What is Autism and Therapy Services?
Yooralla's Autism and Therapy Service provides specialist therapy services to a range of clients across Victoria.
Autism Service
The Autism Service is a specialist therapy service provider for children with an autism spectrum disorder who are eligible for Federal Government funding under the "Helping Children with Autism" program (Department of Families, Housing, Community Service and Indigenous Affairs - FaHCSIA).
A team of Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists, Psychologists, Early Childhood Teachers and Early Childhood Assistants provide a range of flexible, innovative and functional therapy support to clients with autism and their support networks across Victoria.
Therapy Service
Yooralla's Therapy Service is a specialist therapy service provider to clients with disabilities. A dynamic team of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Speech Pathologists can help clients to gain independence skills at kindergarten, school, at home and in the community. Yooralla's Therapy services include:
- assessments
- program planning
- program implementation
- advice on specialised equipment
- advice on building modifications for easier access
- advice on furniture adaptations in the home, classroom or work environment
- staff, parent and/or care-giver training
- disability awareness information
- referrals to other services and resources
We also provide programs for parents, teachers, carers and integration aides including:
- Family Networks
- In-services for teachers and integration aides
- In-services on back care and manual handling
Eligibility
Autism Service
Children with autism under 6 years old who are eligible for the "Helping with Children Autism" funding package. See the FaHSCIA website for further information on eligibility criteria and this program. Yooralla schedule of fees for these therapy services are also posted on this website.
Therapy Service
Clients who have physical and / or speech and language difficulties.
Referral and application
Autism Service
Eligible families can contact the Autism and Therapy service to request a service.
Therapy Service
Clients with funding support (i.e. students at school) are eligible to apply through their funding body to receive Yooralla's therapy services.
Clients who are not eligible to receive funding through other means can purchase service on a private fee for service basis. Medicare rebates may be available for these services.
