- Induction
- Yooralla provides specific induction programs required to ensure people settle into their jobs and to assist them to perform their roles to their full potential. As well as this, a one-day general induction program introduces new employees to the Yooralla environment. It outlines Yooralla's Vision, Mission and Values and how Yooralla is growing and developing, and helps employees to learn about the different parts of Yooralla, where the new staff member fits in, and where to go for help when needed. The CEO and General Managers also meet the new staff on this day.
- Ongoing training
- With our staff occupying many different roles, a range of training activities are provided to assist them to perform their roles successfully and to their full potential.

Competitive salary conditions
- Pay Rates
- Because Yooralla has such a wide range of staff, pay rates are covered by a range of awards and agreements. Further information about specific pay rates relevant to particular positions is available upon inquiry.
- Salary packaging
-
Due to Yooralla's tax status as a public benevolent institution, we are able to offer salary packaging to most permanent staff members. If you participate in Yooralla's Salary Packaging program you can save on the amount of tax you pay which leaves more money in your pocket each fortnight. So how does it work? In a nutshell, you agree to divert a portion of your fortnightly salary to pay off your mortgage, rent, other loans, credit card expenses/ Salpac Transaction Card (this includes but not limited to payment of general insurance, car registration, car insurance, petrol, school fees, health insurance, rates, telephone, utilities, groceries, clothing).
Eligible employees are able to sacrifice $16,050 of gross salary, pay no tax on this amount, and have Yooralla pay personal benefits up to this amount. All tax savings are passed onto the employee. Employees don't need to package the full $16,050. Lesser amounts may be suitable. The NEW Salpac Visa Debit Card can be used instead of a credit card option.Examples of salary packaging:
- On an annual salary of $25,000 (includes all penalty allowances) - packaging the full $16,050 results in an after tax benefit of approx $2,400 per year or $92 per fortnight (equivalent to a pay rise of $2,900 per annum).
- On an annual salary of $35,000 (includes all penalty allowances) - packaging the full $16,050 results in an after tax benefit of approx $3,180 per year or $122 per fortnight (equivalent to a pay rise of $4,650 per annum).
- On an annual salary of $40,000 (includes all penalty allowances) - packaging the full $16,050 results in an after tax benefit of approx $3,940 per year or $152 per fortnight (equivalent to a pay rise of $5,750 per annum).
The above figures include the annual Salpac fee of approx. $310 (also tax deductible).
