Yooralla has a brand new logo which will be rolled out gradually over the next couple of years.

This means from 26th February 2010 you will start to see a more modern looking logo appear on our stationery, letters, publications, advertising and signage.

By bringing in the revised logo gradually overtime, we will not need to throw anything out or replace anything prematurely.

Publications and stationery featuring the new logo will be printed when current stock has run out. Signage and other items will be replaced as needed or as part of normal upgrading cycles.

This is a sustainable and cost effective way of upgrading the Yooralla logo.

It is normal for organisations to tweak and modernise their logos over time. Yooralla has been Yooralla for 92 years. It has been Yooralla Free Kindergarten, Yooralla Hospital School, and Yooralla Society of Victoria. In 2010 it is, simply, Yooralla.

Yooralla's vision, mission and values were updated last year and Yooralla's current strategic plan aims for strengthened empowerment, quality and growth, collaboration, leadership and capability. We are striving to achieve this by being steadfast, courageous and resourceful and by giving everyone 'a fair go'. The new logo and associated tagline of 'you can' reflects this approach, while continuing to demonstrate the Yooralla perspective that services should focus on individual abilities.

For more information on Yooralla's revised logo, call Julie Yorke, Communications Coordinator, on 9666 4528 or email julie.yorke@yooralla.com.au.

Yooralla on ABC Television's 7:30 Report

Tracy and Gerard Zappelli are a couple who have had to fight very hard to be together. After meeting at Yooralla's Glenroy school in 1996, their relationship blossomed into romance and they decided to marry ten years later. Despite initial opposition from their families, Tracy and Gerard finally won them round. The next obstacle was the difficulty in finding residential accommodation for them to live together as they have very different carer support needs. Staff at Yooralla helped them to overcome this barrier and now Tracy and Gerard live together in a Yooralla house in Braybrook. Their story was featured on ABC's 7.30 Report in September. The programme and more indepth interviews can be seen on the ABC website by accessing the link http://www.abc.net.au/7.30/content/2007/s2042963.htm
