Budget
In the current financial year, Yooralla is budgeting to spend close to $73 million to provide quality services for people with disabilities. While much of this funding comes from state and federal governments, we also rely on the generous support of trusts and foundations, bequests and tax deductible donations. Yooralla also used income generated from investments to support and enhance service delivery.

- Fiona Smith
-
I am a public interest lawyer who has worked with Federal and State tribunals, government agencies and the not-for-profit sector. I have also managed an equal opportunity unit for the Brotherhood of St Laurence; been a Governor of the Australian Council of Social Services.; and been a member of various not for profit Boards.
I have a long history of involvement as a human rights and social justice advocate. I believe strongly that if you are affected personally by something – like a road through your local park, being indigenous and faced with racism or having a mental illness, or as in my case, being a woman with a physical disability and daily encountering a physically inaccessible built environment – you can often articulate solutions better than the person who is not so affected. I have also learnt that if you believe you and those around you can make a difference, a powerful force can be unleashed.
I have recently finished over ten years as full time Chairperson of Victoria’s Business Licensing Authority and during this time served a four year term as Chair of the Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission. I am currently a Trustee of the Reichstein Foundation and an ambassador for the Melbourne Community Foundation.
