ILC Education (ILC.ed)
What is ILC.ed?
ILC.ed aims to deliver education and training on assistive technology that meets the needs of a wide range of people. As Assistive Technology increases in complexity, those who benefit also have more complex needs and there is an ever increasing need for knowledge in the field.
Over the years the education program has developed to a tiered framework meeting the needs of learners working in the allied health, community and design areas throughout Victoria.
ILC.ed provides comprehensive education and training for health professionals, carers and other individuals and groups that assist and support people with disabilities and the aging population.
In particular, ILC.ed focuses on the application of available assistive technology designed to help people with disabilities become, or remain, independent in their daily lives.
ILC.ed reaches across Victoria, operating on a cost recovery basis only, and is presented by Yooralla’s Independent Living Centre. We have a Sponsorship Program comprising one Platinum, 4 Gold, 5 Silver, 3 Speakers and unlimited Bronze packages, which we traditionally offer health industry suppliers.
What Does ILC.ed Offer In 2010?
It is our pleasure to present the ILC.ed training and education program for 2010. Exciting changes to the structure of this year's program will increase the opportunities for learners to extend their knowledge in the expanding area of Assistive Technology. The 2010 program includes workshops from Level 1, (Basic), through to Level 3, (Intermediate), allowing us to better classify workshops according to their content and target audience.

Level 1 (L1) - Basic
These brief sessions are designed to introduce participants to a specific area of assistive technology. Session content aims to familiarise participants with products available and how to safely use a selection of products. These courses are aimed at allied health assistants, attendant carers, students, new graduates, health professionals returning to work and others. More Information on Level 1 - Basic.
Level 2 (L2) - Foundation
Level 2 education may be one, two or three day events and are aimed at health professionals who wish to develop foundation skills in a specific area of assistive technology. They aim to prepare learners to select products and product features for use with less complex clients.
More Information on Level 2 - Foundation.
Level 3 (L3) - Intermediate
Level 3 events are one, two or three day events aimed at health professionals who wish to further develop their skills in an area of assistive technology. The aim is to prepare learners to prescribe assistive technology for use with clients with more complex needs and to be a reference point for other professionals working in a similar area. More Information on Level 3 - Intermediate.
Level 4 (L4) - Advanced
These sessions will not be offered in 2010 but will be introduced at a later date.
Supplier Display Days
These FREE display days are an opportunity for all learners to update their knowledge on a specific range of assistive technology currently available. More Information on Supplier Display Days.
