What is NAIDOC Week?

NAIDOC Week is celebrated annually across Australia during the first week of July to honour the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

NAIDOC Week is celebrated annually across Australia during the first week of July to honour the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

The theme for this year is ’Our Languages Matter’ in honour of the resilience and richness of Indigenous languages and the vital role they play in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture.

To support your local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community, you can attend any of the local celebrations advertised on the NAIDOC website.
