School Services Outreach
What is School Services Outreach?
Yooralla provides a range of outreach therapy services for children and adolescents with special needs. A visiting team of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Speech Pathologists help students to gain independence skills at school, at home and in the community. Yooralla's Outreach Therapy services include:
- student assessments
- program planning
- program implementation
- advice on specialised equipment
- advice on building modifications for easier access
- advice on furniture adaptations in the classroom
- staff, parent and/or care-giver training
- disability awareness information
- referrals to other services and resources
We also provide programs for parents, teachers, and integration aides including:
- Family Networks
- In-services for teachers and integration aides
- In-services on back care and manual handling
Eligibility
Children aged between five to eighteen years who have significant physical or speech and language difficulties or a combination of both. The child can attend state, catholic or independent schools.
Referral and application
Children who receive funding from the Department of Education, Employment and Training are eligible to apply through their school to receive Yooralla's therapy services. Children who are not eligible to receive funding through their school can purchase service on a private fee for service basis.
Fees
- Outreach Therapy
- $65.00 per hour or $60.00 per hour for a minimum of six hours a day at the same school.
- Family Networks / In-service
- Please call to discuss the costs of the Family Networks and In-service programs.
