Community Farm

Our Community Farm is a complex located on 22 hectares of land to the east of Benalla. It features a variety of training and meeting spaces with full kitchen facilities and can be used by groups on a short or long term basis.

The Farm was established to provide a community space where a variety of activities can take place. It aims to create and support life learning, in a safe rural environment, encouraging people to connect through community participation.

Who can use the Community Farm?

Our facilities are available to all members of the community - individuals, clubs and groups. In addition we have identified three target groups that we believe stand to gain the most from the project:

  • People with disability – Yooralla’s core business is supporting people with disability. The Community Farm is used to enhance Yooralla programs and is also available to other disability organisations
  • Youth – the farm provides programs that aim to increase the number of young people who study and stay in the community by providing pathways into further study and work in the region. We encourage and support partnerships between individuals and companies, to help ensure local talent and expertise stays local
  • University of the Third Age - the farm provides a forum where retired people can share their skills and experiences with future generations in a genuine, supportive environment
