School Services

Our School Services support children who have a disability to:

access the curriculum
maximise their skills
be included
increase their independence

We provide

Support for children in schools statewide through our Children's Community Therapy Service
Long term support teams working as part of the Belmore and Glenroy Specialist Schools

Our teams include occupational therapists, physiotherapists, speech pathologists, nurses, an equipment technician and direct support staff. They all have particular expertise in supporting children who have significant physical or communication difficulties, as well as complex health needs.

Our staff work closely with schools and families. Together they look at what is needed for each child and design an integrated plan that meets the child’s individual needs. This is put into action and monitored to make sure it meets the child’s developing needs.

School Services staff can also prescribe equipment or modifications to the environment that will improve the child’s mobility and independence.

Staff can provide training in specific areas for families and schools.
