Volunteering

At Yooralla, we have a wide variety of opportunities for volunteers to use their skills to help us support people with disability.  It’s a worthwhile commitment, and a wonderful way to participate in various activities that increase the independence of people with disability to live the life they choose.

Volunteers help our staff by providing support and physical assistance to children and adults with disability.

You can choose to work in a range of our services, and we try to match your interests and accessibility with the needs of our clients.

Our services are located throughout the metropolitan area of Melbourne, with regional sites in Gippsland, Hume, Loddon Mallee and Benalla areas.

Our volunteers need to be:

  • Reliable
  • Patient
  • Encouraging
  • Positive, with a friendly attitude
  • Respectful of client and staff confidentiality
  • Honest and ethical
  • Able to respect diversity

Support and training is provided and all volunteers are required to undertake a police check and, if working with children, a working with children check. These formalities will be discussed in full during your interview.
