Dr Sherene Devanesen, Chief Executive Officer

Dr Sherene Devanesen was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of Yooralla in February 2015. Prior to this appointment, Dr Devanesen held the role of Chief Operating Officer at Yooralla.
Before joining Yooralla in January 2014, Dr Devanesen was Chief Executive Officer of Peninsula Health. With over 30 years’ experience in the management of health services and medical administration, her experience has provided her with a strong reputation in consumer consultation and engagement, and in achieving quality outcomes for human and community services.
Dr Devanesen holds a personal interest in strengthening the capacity of individuals, families and communities through effective service delivery and in upholding peoples’ rights through the delivery of person-centred care, and the promotion of choice and control.
She is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators, a Fellow of the Australasian College of Health Service Management, a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management, a Fellow of the Hong Kong College of Community Medicine and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. She is the current Board Chair of the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital, a member of the Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre’s Parkville Service Development Committee and a member of the Minister for Health’s Ministerial Advisory Council for the Statewide Services and Infrastructure Plan.
Dr Devanesen was an expert advisor for the Department of Health’s Health Innovation & Reform Council and a member of the Health Safety, Quality and Outcomes Standing Committee. Her former appointments include Chair of the Victorian Quality Council, President of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators, membership of the Mental Health Act Implementation Board, surveyor with the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards and chair of the board of Wesley Mission Victoria.
Narayan Prasad, Chief Financial Officer
MBA (Deakin University), FCPA, GAICD
Narayan was appointed to the role of Chief Financial Officer in January 2017. Prior to joining Yooralla, Narayan was the Chief Financial Officer in Linfox Australia Pty Ltd. He was also an Executive Director on the Board of Linfox Australia Pty Ltd. In a career spanning more than 25 years, Narayan has held senior finance roles in Linfox Australia, Australian Arrow (a subsidiary of Yazaki Corp), Toyota Australia and Motorola.
Narayan is an experienced finance executive who has worked in complex, diverse, large, multidisciplinary, multisite organisations. He has strong and high level analytical skills; proven communication, negotiation, influencing and advocacy skills and he has led change management processes. Narayan has had successful and productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders and demonstrated his experiences in strategic financial planning and operational management. He has extensive experience in managing the finance function, project management, growing the business and responding to customer needs.
In addition to accounting qualifications (FCPA), Narayan has completed an MBA from Deakin University. He is also a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Rod Carracher, Chief Practitioner
MRN, EMPA, GAICD
Rod commenced as Chief Practitioner at Yooralla in March 2016.
He has more than 30 years’ experience in the human services sector and has extensive experience in quality and practice leadership and management of large disability support programs within the government sector. This experience means Rod is well placed to support Yooralla’s transition into the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
Rod has frontline experience of the disability sector, having started his career in disability nursing (MRN). He transitioned to an executive officer role after completing an Executive Master of Public Administration (EMPA).
Rod is committed to safeguarding the rights of people with disabilities and ensuring supports and services provided to customers are of the highest quality.
His previous experience includes multiple roles within the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), including Director of Brimbank Melton Area and Barwon Area; Regional Manager, Disability Accommodation Services in the former North and West Region; and Acting Senior Practitioner and Manager, Practice Leadership and Quality of Life in the Office of the Senior Practitioner.
Rod has also been a sitting member on the Youth Parole Board.
Bruce Ryan, Chief Information Officer
Bruce is an experienced and pragmatic leader of large scale programs and projects; he has extensive expertise and experience in ICT disciplines including program and project management, software development, technology infrastructure, large-scale procurement, contract management and system implementation.
Bruce has a sound record of successfully delivering his objectives in both private and public sector environments in the areas of Health, Transport and Finance. He has a strong focus on benefits realisation and risk management and a demonstrated ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
Russell Shewan, Executive Director, Planning, Business Development and Corporate Services

Russell has over 19 years' experience in strategy and business development, encompassing commercial management, sales and operations, marketing and communications, finance and project management.
Russell is passionate about working with teams to deliver inspiring solutions for clients and organisational change through effective processes and the creative use of technology. Russell's strategic thinking, commercial acumen and technical fact driven financial analysis has developed across various sectors. Through board appointments and senior commercial, operational and technology-based roles, Russell has managed large commercial operations, organisation governance, opportunity development, projects and business transformations.
Elaine Krassas, Executive Director, Community Services
MBA BA (Joint Hons), FCPFA (UK), FACHSM, FIML, GAICD
Elaine started with Yooralla in January 2016 and is responsible for Children’s Services, Family Options, Community Hubs, Personalised Services, Arts and Recreation, Case Management, Information Brokerage and Facilitation, and Business Enterprises.
For the past five years, Elaine has been a member of the Executive team at Royal Freemasons Ltd, a longstanding provider of aged care services in Victoria. In addition to residential care, the organisation also provides home care, respite care, independent living and day services.
In the home care setting, consumer directed care has already been mandated with funds being transferred to the customer. These changes are similar to the changes that will occur under the NDIS. Elaine was part of the Executive team at Royal Freemasons that restructured the organisation and enabled a cultural shift, in order to facilitate this transition.
Prior to joining Royal Freemasons, Elaine was the Operations Director of a large public mental health service which provided both inpatient and extensive community services. Elaine has also been a Director of Quality and a Chief Financial Officer in the public health sector.
Her qualifications include a BA (Hons) Chartered Public Finance Accountant (UK) and a Masters of Business Administration (MBA). She is also a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. She is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management and a Fellow of the Australasian College of Health Service Management.
Michelle Holian, Executive Director, People and Culture
BSc (Hons), MBL, GAICD
Michelle is a highly experienced HR practitioner with extensive experience in HR leadership roles in a variety of sectors including State Departments of Health and Education, public health and not-for-profit organisations.
Michelle’s career history includes 3 years as Executive Director, Human Resources with Peninsula Health; 3 years as Director of Human Resources with Western Health; 5 years in senior HR roles with the Department of Education; 4 years as Manager, Organisational Health with the Department of Human Services; and 7 years with the Victorian WorkCover Authority and its predecessor organisations.
Her areas of particular passion and expertise include occupational health and safety, organisational culture and workplace behaviours. Michelle’s primary degree is in Science, but since then she has completed a Graduate Diploma of Business, a Masters of Business Leadership and postgraduate Strategic HR Management qualifications through the Australian Graduate School of Management. Michelle is also a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Leanne Turner, Executive Director, Residential and Respite Support Service
BHealthSci, PostGradDip (Health Administration), MBA, GAICD
Leanne joined Yooralla in March 2017 and is responsible for Residential and Respite Support Services.
Before joining Yooralla, Leanne was the Executive Director of the Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne at Dental Health Services Victoria for three years where she developed new models of care and implemented a new clinical governance framework.
Prior to joining Dental Health Services Victoria, Leanne was the Director of Specialty Services at Austin Health for eight years. In this role, she was responsible for the strategic leadership and operational management of Cardiac Services, Vascular Surgery, Neurosciences, Neuropsychology and Respiratory Services, including the Victorian Respiratory Support Service.
Leanne's qualifications include a Bachelor of Health Science (Nursing), a Post Graduate Diploma in Health Administration (La Trobe University) and a Masters Degree in Business Admininstration (RMIT). She is also a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
