Yooralla's Reconciliation Action Plan
Yooralla’s first Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) was launched in 2018, after receiving a formal endorsement from Reconciliation Australia.
For 100 years, Yooralla has been committed to taking action to support inclusion and belonging for people with disability.
Underpinned by the belief that more must be done to support equality for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people with disability, Yooralla is pleased to have formally joined more than 800 organisations in Australia in the national reconciliation movement.
The RAP outlines the practical actions that Yooralla will take to drive the organisation’s contribution to reconciliation.
Yooralla’s RAP was formally launched during 2018 National Reconciliation Week at the Box Hill Community Hub. A Smoking Ceremony by Wurundjeri Elder Colin Hunter Jr opened the event, followed by an Acknowledgement of Country delivered by Yooralla customer Chrissy. The ceremony was attended by customers and their carers and families, and staff.
