Community invitation to provide feedback on improving NDIS processes
DATE: 16 October 2019
The Australian Government is seeking feedback from from people with disability and their carers about how to improve NDIS processes.
This review is part of the creation of a new NDIS Participant Service Guarantee to improve participants’ experiences with the NDIS. It will consider what changes may need to be made to the NDIS legislation to support the Guarantee and set new standards into law.
A key focus is on improving processes for children and participants needing specialist disability accommodation, assistive technology, or other services requiring a quote or further approval.
The community is invited to share their ideas and experiences before 31 October 2019, through the following options:
- Completing an online survey. The anonymous survey will ask experiences with the NDIS process and thoughts on what could improve.
- Writing in with a submission. It is recommended to read the review paper, which includes questions and prompts to assist with a submission.
- Participating in a face-to-face workshop. These will be held in every state and territory around Australia between September and October 2019. The Melbourne event will be held on 28 October 2019 from 10.00am to 2.00pm at the Isabella Fraser room at the State Library. Register here for the Melbourne event.
