Help us provide positive behaviour support for those in need
DATE: 27 November 2019
One of the ways we strongly believe we can make a significant, positive difference for people with a disability is through providing additional support for those who may have complex behavioural needs.
Our final donation appeal for 2019 is focused on this and we would very much appreciate your support.
We support many people with a disability who may find day-to-day social and community interactions stressful. People with a disability who have communication difficulties can often become frustrated and display behaviours of concern if the messages they are trying to convey are not understood or responded to in the way they had intended.
Donations to our appeal will help to establish the role of a skilled behaviour support practitioner who can provide practice leadership, coaching, mentoring and day-to-day advice for staff and family members assisting people with complex behaviour support requirements. There is a great need to train more who work directly with people with a disability in this practice so we can make this form of support more accessible to those who require it.
Our goal is to raise $150,000 through this appeal, so we can begin to make this possible. If you would like to donate, you can do so here.
