NDIS price changes
DATE: 18 July 2019
The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) has released its 2019 NDIS Price Guide with updated prices for disability service providers, effective from 1 July 2019.
Participants’ NDIS Plan funding has been updated automatically to match the new prices.
The prices for all of Yooralla’s services and supports in the NDIS are in line with the latest NDIS Price Guide.
Some of the price changes announced by NDIA are summarised below:
- There was a general price increase for therapy, attendant care (also known as community inclusion or one-to-one support) and community participation.
- A new Temporary Transformation Payment (TTP) has been applied to attendant care, community and centre-based activities (such as Community Hubs).
- Service providers can now claim for travel up to 30 minutes within metropolitan areas and 60 minutes in regional areas under core supports and, under Capacity Building, travel back to the staff member’s usual place of work.
- Service providers can charge for some non-face-to-face activities that are part of delivering a specific disability support to a customer - with prior agreement.
The NDIA has also updated the service cancellation rules, which means that NDIS participants need to provide two clear business days’ notice to their service provider (e.g. Yooralla) to cancel a service that goes for eight hours or less, and is less than $1,000. For all other situations, five clear business days’ notice is required.
Yooralla will be applying the updated cancellation rules.
NDIS prices are reviewed annually to ensure that NDIS participants receive value for money and that service providers, like Yooralla, can provide services in a sustainable market.
