Supporting CALD customers with life after lockdown

The sessions aim to support CALD people with disability who may be finding it difficult to get back to community life.

Yooralla’s Customer Rights and Empowerment (CRE) team has partnered with the Migrant Resource Centre North West’s Disability and Diversity program to run mental health focused sessions for people with disability from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds.

The ‘Getting back on track. Your life, your wellbeing after lockdown’ sessions aim to support CALD people with disability who may be finding it difficult to get back to community life, due to factors such as:

  • isolation and marginalisation
  • family and community perceptions, and
  • lack of accessibility and information on services and support available.

The sessions will support CALD people with disability by addressing issues and skills such as relationships, employment, community options, problem solving, stress management, conflict resolution, and many more.

The sessions are free of charge and will be run once a month, every third Thursday of each month, until the end of the year at the Migrant Resource Centre North West, St Albans.

The next session will be held on Thursday 20 May.
