World Autism Awareness Day
DATE: 2 April 2019
World Autism Awareness Day, on 2 April 2019, seeks to increase the community’s awareness and understanding of autism.
Yooralla is dedicated to supporting people with autism and their families.
Matt is a Yooralla customer with autism, who has been living independently in Yooralla’s accommodation for more than two years.
With Yooralla’s support, Matt has been able to build positive relationships, retain a job, manage his finances and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Watch Matt’s video to find out more.
Yooralla has also prepared information about autism including what does the NDIS mean for children with autism and 5 things you need to know about autism spectrum disorder.
In addition for parents of children with autism we have developed a specific section of our website outlining the tailored services Yooralla offers for children with autism, which includes:
- Autism testing for children
- Positive Behaviour Support
- Assistance with Daily Living
- Support Coordination, and
- Communication and Assistive Technology
Yooralla supports people with autism with quality, tailored services from early childhood through to adulthood.
If your child is diagnosed with autism, Yooralla staff can also support you through the National Disability Insurance Scheme process, from early childhood and beyond, with free NDIS resources.
