National Youth Week
DATE: 16 April 2015
To mark National Youth Week, this infographic looks at disability rates for young people in Australia.
Australian youth are defined as aged between 12 - 25 years old.
- The most common type of disability among young people is intellectual, while head injury, stroke or brain injuries are the least common.
- Compared with the general population, there is lower percentage rate of disability among young people. Because disability rates increase with age, this profile is likely to increase over time.
