Top needs to enable employment
DATE: 10 September 2015
According to Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) data, there are over 600 000 Australians with disability who are willing and able to work, but require special arrangements to do so.
However, 39 percent of this group don’t work at all. This clearly represents a great untapped potential workforce.
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) aims to increase the social and economic participation of people with disability, including by supporting people to work. But will funding of supports alone allow improved workforce participation?
