NDIS quarter one 2015 report
DATE: 2 July 2015
This infographic provides an update of participation and funding of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) within the trial sites as of March 2015.
- The NDIS first began providing disability support funding to people living in trial sites in July 2014. Since then, 13 610 participants have been assigned funding to meet all of their "reasonable and necessary" disability support needs.
- 4021 of these are in the Victorian trial area (up 311 on the previous quarter).
- Despite some media misreporting, the numbers of people who need funding and the amount of funding they need remains within the projected figures.
- 113 days is the average time between access request and receiving NDIS funded services in the Barwon region, an increase of 2 days when compared to last quarter.
'Disability' is used to mean the broad ABS definition of disability, and includes persons over 65. See the ABS website for details.
