NDIS quarter three 2016 report

This infographic provides an update of participation and funding of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) within the trial sites as of March 2016.

Key facts:

  • There were 24,866 active participants in Australian trial sites as of March 2016.
  • There were 4867 active participants in the Barwon trial site as of March 2016.
  • Autism and related disorders (22%) and intellectual disability (22%) are the leading primary disabilities of participants in the Barwon region.
  • 'Daily living' is the top support need for participants in the Barwon region, followed by 'Independence', 'Community, social and civic participation', 'Health and wellbeing', 'Relationships', 'Home living', 'Employment' and 'Education'.

Technical notes:

'Disability' is used to mean the broad ABS definition of disability, and includes persons over 65. See the ABS website for details.
