Macey Heights Program information
Located in Avondale Heights, Macey Heights Hub is focused on educational and skills development (including job skills, social skills, independent living skills, travel training and cooking) and recreation for adults with disability. The Hub is well known for their Performing Arts Program (particularly their end of year performance) and they love to socialise and get together for fun events such as their regular nightclub and movie nights.
Y Nightclub
Get your boogie on with the Macey Heights Y Nightclub, a chance to 'cut-a-rug' and dance with friends to your favourite tunes. Hosted every second Friday night, clients will also prepare and cater afternoon tea, dinner and dessert for our nightclub and culture programs. Learn about organising events, catering, dietary requirements all while having fun!
Performing arts program
Designed to inspire young adults to express themselves through their passion of dancing, drama, music and visual arts the Macey Heights aspiring actors work towards a yearly show for friends, family and the public. Build confidence, teamwork and communication skills and rehearse a production which is showcased at the end of the year.
Creative writing and film
Build communication skills Develop confidence and creativity through writing stories, scripts and poems or learn about video making and how to put stories into screen play create short films. The opportunities are endless when it comes to self-expression and imagination.
