Neurological Support Services (NSS)
We provide around the clock care for people with progressive neurological conditions such as Huntington’s Disease and Multiple Sclerosis at our Neurological Support Services (NSS).
What we provide
Residents with progressive neurological conditions such as Huntington’s Disease and Multiple Sclerosis are supported around the clock at our Neurological Support Services (NSS).
NSS has a state-wide reputation for our expertise in the management and care for people with progressive neurological disorders at our residential accommodation sites across Metropolitan Melbourne. Our staff have extensive training and experience in managing behaviours of concern, complex bowel management, urinary catheter care, dysphagia, mealtime management, enteral feeding and tracheostomy care.
In addition to highly skilled support staff, we also have an Activities Coordinator (AC), who works with you and your fellow residents to organise a range of exciting group activities - where you are supported to go on outings of your choice, such as attending AFL football matches, horse racing, car racing or simply exploring the community and having a cuppa down by the beach. The AC will support you to keep connected to your social networks both when at home and in the community, through games nights and special interest groups. We support you to do what you enjoy!
Eligibility
To access NSS you must be eligible to receive services from NDIA (or have equivalent funding), be over 18 years of age and have a progressive neurological condition that requires ongoing nursing intervention, guidance or assessment.
