Medium-Term Accommodation (MTA)
What is Medium-Term Accommodation (MTA)?
Medium-Term Accommodation (MTA) is an NDIS support that can help if you need a temporary place to live while waiting for your confirmed permanent home.
This is usually funded for up to 90 days, as a one-off support, when there is evidence that you have somewhere to move to after this time.
MTA funding covers the costs of the physical home you will live in. It does not cover your day-to-day living costs such as food, utilities and transport.
Medium-Term Accommodation (MTA) at Yooralla
At Yooralla, we can support you if you have MTA funding in your NDIS plan. This is usually the case when you are:
- Waiting for home modifications to be completed
- Waiting for your assistive technology or support equipment to be installed
- Leaving hospital or an aged care home
- Experiencing a breakdown of supports and can’t live in your current home
- Waiting for your confirmed Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) home to be ready or a new build to be completed.

Yes! We currently provide MTA supports in these homes:
Box Hill
Three separate, single-level, living zones with access to a shared, covered barbeque area where you can relax and take in the sounds of the local birds with other residents and visitors. There is a park right on your doorstep and Box Hill Central is less than five-minutes drive way, with shops, cafés, allied health services and transportation.
Glenroy
Two individual living units with four bedrooms in each, plus a shared outdoor space and BBQ area. Each unit has accessible bathrooms and the bedroom have built-in wardrobes and plenty of room for your personal belongings. The home is perfectly located with shops, public transport, nature reserves and other local amenities just around the corner!
