This International Men’s Health Week, our clients discuss the different ways they support their health and wellbeing to lead a 'Good Life'

International Men’s Health Week is a great opportunity to focus on some of the different ways men and boys can maintain their health.

Movement and exercise

Speaking to our clients, we found that movement through sport was a clear way our clients support their health and wellbeing. For Chris, Justin and Anthony, movement through sport and exercise was a very important aspect of a ‘Good Life’.

“I’ve got my own life, doing sports,” Chris said.

“I enjoy basketball, we shoot some hoops,” he said.

We found that being outdoors in nature while also exercising and connecting with others also goes a long way to supporting health and wellbeing. Our clients enjoy walks, golf, riding a bike and the opportunity to connect with friends outdoors.

“I like to go for a walk and walking around,” said Chris.

“I like riding a bike to get out in the fresh air…I really enjoy going for walks, sometimes I go for 10km walks,” said Justin.

Activities like these also help improve community and social connection for our clients, like Anthony, to support mental health and minimise feelings of isolation.

“I play golf every Saturday…down at Rhyll golf club,” said Anthony.

“I’ve got mates, I made more friends down at the golf course at Rhyll. And [its] exercise too,” Anthony said.
