Supporting Cerebral Palsy Alliance’s foundational supports position paper
We worked in partnership with esteemed industry bodies on the ‘Developing a Foundational Supports Strategy and Service System for Children with Developmental Concerns, Delays, or Disabilities’ position paper.
Yooralla has collaborated with the Cerebral Palsy Alliance and a group of industry bodies on a position paper to inform work on defining the Government’s foundational supports strategy.
As part of the NDIS reforms, foundational supports have been proposed by the Government to provide support for people with disability or additional needs outside of the NDIS.
We worked in partnership with esteemed industry bodies on the ‘Developing a Foundational Supports Strategy and Service System for Children with Developmental Concerns, Delays, or Disabilities’ position paper.
The paper aims to explain the essential service design and delivery for children under nine years of age at risk of complex disability such as Cerebral Palsy, to be considered when creating the foundational supports strategy.
A nationally consistent approach to developmental monitoring and screening will ensure children with developmental concerns, including complex disability, will be identified earlier, giving them access to the right mix of supports and services in childhood.
As a leading disability service provider, we are proud to have collaborated with Cerebral Palsy Alliance, Ability First Australia, Cerebral Palsy Australia, Disability Assembly WA and Rocky Bay to develop this important document. With our collective expertise in delivering high-quality support to young people with disability, we stand alongside our partners and endorse this paper.
Together, we represent and advocate for the needs of tens of thousands of people with disability and their families, recognising the importance of, and advocating for, early intervention supports.
