The Great Chase
Earlier this month, some of our residential clients in Sale attended the annual Great Chase event at their local Greyhound Club.
Excitement levels were high after a two-year hiatus! Clients were warmly welcomed by the Greyhound Club staff and Tim Bull - Shadow Minister for Disability, Seniors, Carers, Racing and Veterans' Affairs.
Everyone enjoyed a delicious BBQ lunch, face painting, mingling with other disability organisations and plenty of pats and cuddles with retired greyhounds.
Yooralla clients were allocated their greyhound racers, crossing their toes and fingers they’d be winners and grinners!
It wasn’t looking good after the first two races of the afternoon, with others taking a big lead. Yooralla clients didn’t think they had much hope of taking home the big bucks.
At the end of the day, they were shocked to find out they’d taken out both 1st and 3rd place – taking home some great winnings!
The clients who attended the Great Chase had a great day and are now getting busy writing their lists of what to spend their winnings on – the possibilities are endless!
