Wishing Andrew ‘Allsorts’ of luck for the MS Plus Virtual Art Show

Andrew, resident artist, has entered his artwork “Allsorts” into the MS Plus Virtual Art show for the very first time.

Andrew, resident artist, has entered his artwork “Allsorts” into the MS Plus Virtual Art show for the very first time.

The art show provides people living with neurological conditions an opportunity to express their creativity and their unique experience of Multiple Sclerosis (MS) through art.

Through his artwork, Andrew, who paints out of his Burwood home at Yooralla’s Neurological Support Services (NSS), has explored the show’s theme of ‘My MS Diagnosis: It Takes A Village’ – expressing what having an MS village means to him.

You can read Andrew’s description of his artwork below.

"My greatest village is Melbourne; Melbourne is my life.

The care I receive is from "Allsorts" of people in my support network i.e DSW, physio, support coordinator, OT, family.

Even though I have a diagnosis of MS, there's still a lot of colour within my life, even though I am colour blind, I'm not blind of colour.

As the painting shows, buildings stand strong, however as with MS diagnosis, occasionally the buildings crumble, but with my "Allsorts" of supports, I stand tall.

Without the care of "Allsorts" within my village, life would be isolated and not as colourful.

There is so much colour in my world, and I know as my MS progresses, I will add more colour to my "Allsorts" of care."

Winners will be announced on World MS Day on 30 May 2024.

Good luck Andrew!
