Yooralla clients blitz the Tri State Games

Eight talented athletes from Benalla, Wangaratta and Mansfield recently participated in the annual Tri State Games.

This week-long event held in November provides people with disability the opportunity to compete against their peers in a range of sporting activities. Close to 200 athletes travel from South Australia, NSW and Victoria to Cobram, Barooga and Yarrawonga!

The games began with an opening ceremony that includes a street parade and the raising of the Tri State Games flag.

Events included indoor sports, aquatics, athletics, field and other team events.

The talented Yooralla Canons went in guns blazing and completed in a variety of events - with 23 medals won at the end of the competition!

The Yooralla Canons were speedy in the pool, winning 3rd overall and bringing home a team trophy. Client, Emily Reynolds, amazingly won Runner Up Female Athletes for the games.

Everyone celebrated in the evenings after the games with dinners and theme nights – including a country and western night, pool party, 70’s disco and Gala dinner. Everyone had a blast!

The clients are gearing up and can’t wait to compete again next year!
