Celebrating our Allied Health Professionals!
On Saturday 14 October we celebrate Allied Health Professions Day and the contribution that our allied health team make to the health and wellbeing of our clients.
Allied Health Professions Day
This year’s theme, ‘stronger together’, highlights the benefits of multi-disciplinary team-based care – something at the very heart of our approach to our therapy services.
We recently asked some of our amazing allied health professionals what they love about working in their respective fields. Here’s what they had to say!
“I love working together with OTs, physios and specialist behaviour support practitioners. I have learned so much working alongside them – it’s one of the best parts of my job,” says Kirstie – one of our Speech Pathologists.
Julie, a Yooralla Physiotherapist, shared that the best part of her role is “knowing that you can make a real difference in the life of a young person with the skills and knowledge that you’ve gathered over your career is rewarding.”
Occupational Therapist, Kate, loves that no two days at Yooralla are the same. “There is so much variety, you are bound to find something within OT that interests you. You work in many different areas and there are so many opportunities.”
Katrina, one of our Psychologists, reflected on her role at Yooralla and says “I love working within a collaborative and flexible team who are passionate about supporting our clients to live their best lives.”
Our Therapy services support adults and children with disability at all ages and life stages. Our flexible and qualified team of experienced therapists can provide you with support across physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech pathology, psychology, behaviour support and teaching. We support children and adults with disability of all needs, at all ages and life stages.
