It’s the most wonderful time of the year in our Gippsland SIL
About the day
Clients and staff from one of our Supported Independent Living (SIL) homes in Gippsland recently got together, with their families, to celebrate Christmas.
Clients Sam, Rhonda, Anthony, Gary and Gwenda (pictured below) handmade beautiful ornaments and baked and decorated gingerbread cookies to get in the festive spirit.
They were then joined by staff and their families for lunch and gift swapping. A great feast was shared at Club Eastwood in Lucknow, Victoria.
The clients were so happy to be with their families, who travelled far and wide. This was the first Christmas party where clients, staff and families were all together.
Client Sam was surprised to tears to see her dad and brother who had travelled from Drouin to see her.
Rhonda and Gwenda were so happy to see their siblings and spend time with them.
Gary said he was excited to spend Christmas at his sister in-law's place this year.
A great day was shared by clients, staff and their families!
