The NDIS comes to Brimbank Melton and Western Melbourne

Eligible people with disability in the region will soon go through a NDIS planning process to receive a NDIS plan, which will be based on their individual needs and goals.

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) rolls out across Brimbank Melton and Western Melbourne from 1 October 2018.

The Brimbank Melton NDIS region covers the local government areas of Brimbank and Melton; and Western Melbourne covers Hobsons Bay, Maribyrnong, Melbourne, Moonee Valley and Wyndham.

Eligible people with disability in the region will soon go through a NDIS planning process to receive a NDIS plan, which will be based on their individual needs and goals.

Yooralla has developed useful free NDIS guides to support people through all stages of their NDIS journey.

If your NDIS planning meeting is coming up, Yooralla’s free guide to prepare for the NDIS can help you understand the NDIS planning process and prepare for your planning meeting. It includes activity planners, and will help you to think about your goals and what you need to achieve them.

If you are a parent of child with disability, Yooralla’s free guide to prepare for the NDIS for your child will support families with children who have developmental delay or disability to prepare for NDIS.

Once you have your NDIS plan, Yooralla’s step-by-step guide to implement your NDIS plan can support you to get your NDIS plan underway and start receiving your NDIS supports.

Yooralla’s Community Engagement team are holding free-one-on-one NDIS discussions in Flemington and St Albans in October. They will explain how the NDIS works, how to access it, how to prepare for your NDIS planning meeting, and if you have your plan how to make the most of it - all in easy to understand language.
