The NDIS Amendment Bill 2024
This Bill will enable the legislative changes required to enable future improvements to the NDIS and strengthen the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.
The Australian Government tabled the National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Getting the NDIS Back on Track No.1) Bill 2024 to Parliament on 27 March 2024.
This Bill will enable the legislative changes required to implement the first tranche of the recommendations of the NDIS Review, to enable future improvements to the NDIS and strengthen the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.

5 June 2024 - NDIS Amendment Bill 2024 approved by Parliament
expand_moreThe National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Getting the NDIS Back on Track No. 1) Bill 2024 was passed by the House of Representatives on 5 June 2024.
There were further changes proposed by the Federal Government to clarify key elements, which have been agreed to. The Bill will now go on to be considered by the Senate.
27 March 2024 - NDIS amendments Bill submitted to Parliament
expand_moreOn 27 March 2024, The Minister for the NDIS and Government Services, The Hon Bill Shorten MP, introduced to Parliament the National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment (Getting the NDIS Back on Track No.1) Bill 2024.
The Bill addresses priority recommendations from the NDIS Review and represents the first tranche of amendments to the NDIS Act 2013, that are aimed to improve both financial sustainability of the scheme and participant experience.
