Fang-tastic Halloween at Highett Supported Independent Living

Highett Supported Independent Living (SIL) clients recently celebrated Halloween with a fang-tastic dress-up party at home.

Rhonda, Denise and Mandy, who live in our Highett Supported Independent Living (SIL) home, love Halloween. So, they decided to celebrate with a Halloween-themed party at home on 31 October!

With the support of Yooralla staff, they planned their event and got some decorations.

They spent the Sunday before Halloween decorating the house with colourful spiderwebs, fake spiders and spooky balloons. “There was a great Halloween vibe that day,” said Claudia, Yooralla Disability Support Worker. Rhonda, Denise and Mandy took it in turns choosing where to place the decorations, both inside and outside the home.

As part of her Yooralla Community Hub art program, Denise also made a great Halloween-themed plate, featuring a spider, as an art piece.

On the day of the party, everyone dressed up in their best spooky attire and enjoyed Halloween lollies and taking photos in their costumes and props.
