Leongatha Community Hub turns green and gold

The Leongatha Community Hub has turned green and gold to celebrate the Toyko Olympics! Sharon, Service Manager at Leongatha Community Hub, said the customers had been asking for a special day to celebrate the Olympics.

“We decided that customers and staff would dress up in different colours of different countries, but everyone turned up in green and gold,” said Sharon.

“We even had green and gold food, with a green and gold rice salad and green and gold jelly.

“The hub has also been completely decked out, with green and gold decorations, Aussie flags and even an inflatable boxing kangaroo,” she said.

The hub and customers have been participating in centre-based activities due to the COVID-19 lockdown restrictions, with the Olympics an exciting addition to their activities.

“The customers have been making sure to watch the Olympics and are following lots of the events,” said Sharon.

“Swimming was a real favourite and basketball as well. A group of the customers are really into it and make sure they turn on the TV when certain races or competitions are on.

“I can hear them cheering all the way from my office!” said Sharon, laughing.
