About the Home
Yooralla’s Young Onset Dementia service is an NDIS funded service that provides specialist accommodation and tailored 24-hour support for people with young onset dementia (under the age of 65 years).
This is one of only a few young onset dementia care homes in Victoria providing NDIS dementia supports to people under 65 years. Yooralla’s Young Onset Dementia Service has been specifically designed so young people with dementia can be supported (24/7) in their own home with house mates closer to their age, rather than in a nursing home.
Features
Acacia is made up of two units (One client on each side). Each unit includes own bathroom, bedroom, living room and kitchen.
- Enjoy the outdoor spaces with a large BBQ area, providing the perfect setting to relax or have your friends and family visit.Each spacious bedroom has free WiFi and heating and cooling,
- There are hoists in all bedrooms and bathrooms,
- The home is fully accessible and designed for wheelchair access,
- Shared living, dining, kitchen and laundry areas,
- Our highly skilled staff can support you to live independently in the community, as well as to enjoy a comfortable and enjoyable home life and to live the life you choose.
Eligibility for Young Onset Dementia care at Yooralla
Yooralla’s Young Onset Dementia Service can support you if you have Supported Independent Living (SIL) and Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) funding in your NDIS plan, and you are a person under 65 with young onset dementia.

- 30-minutes drive to Melbourne CBD.
